High Five! from Neutral Uke Hotel's Matthew Girard

The first step is admitting to having a problem, right? Well, my name is Matthew Girard and I am a smart phone addict. In the age of the personal technology revolution, it is all too easy to pick up one of the following addictive mobile applications (Yes, that’s right, I said applications…because I refuse to call them “apps”!). I happen to have an iPhone, but many of these exist on other platforms as well.

So with that, here are five of my favorite applications that I use at least once a day.

1. Angry Birds

Must…stop…playing.

2. The Weather Channel

How else will I know if I need a sweater?

3. Solitaire

Basically, anyone who has used a computer will attest that this game is the #1 productivity waster of all time.

4. Oblique Strategies

These digitally modeled flash cards by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt are cryptic remarks designed to spur alternative thinking.

5. Netflix

Now that I can watch Airwolf anywhere and at anytime, my life is complete.

To celebrate the end of the nine to five, a Green Light Go staff member or artist will leave you with their short list of favorite things, better known as the High Five!

This week's High Five! is brought to you by: Matthew Girard
